Embark on an unforgettable near shore fishing adventure just within 9 miles of state waters, where the thrill of the catch meets the beauty of our coastal scenery. During these excursions, we primarily focus on bottom fishing, targeting an impressive variety of species. From groupers and several types of snapper—such as mangrove, gray snapper, and grunts—to flounder, sharks, and more, every trip is brimming with opportunities for anglers of all levels.
Our adventures don’t stop there. While trolling or drifting, we often reel in Spanish mackerel, King mackerel, and sharks, among other exciting species. Occasionally, we might even have a rare encounter with a majestic sailfish. However, it’s important to set expectations: we do not target offshore species like mahi-mahi, blue marlin, or swordfish, as these are typically not found in our inshore or nearshore waters.
One of the highlights of near shore fishing is the abundance of fish that are not only thrilling to catch but also delicious to eat! As part of our commitment to providing a top-notch experience, we will fillet and bag your catch, making it easy for you to take home. If you’d like, local restaurants offer a unique “hook and cook” service, where they’ll expertly prepare your fresh catch with a couple of delicious sides for a small fee. Of course, you’re always welcome to savor the fruits of your labor by cooking your catch at home.
Adding to the allure of near shore fishing is the stunning backdrop of our coastal region. On clear days, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of iconic landmarks, such as the Don CeSar Hotel on St. Pete Beach or Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach. The combination of exciting fishing action and serene coastal scenery creates an experience you’ll cherish long after the trip ends.
Choosing inshore or nearshore fishing comes with a host of advantages, making it an ideal option for both novice anglers and seasoned pros. One of the most significant benefits is the calmer waters, which minimize the risk of seasickness and maximize your time spent fishing. Unlike offshore trips that often involve long travel times to reach the fishing grounds, inshore and nearshore fishing allows you to start casting lines sooner.
The vessel I operate, a Pathfinder 2500 hybrid, is specifically engineered for these versatile environments. Its hybrid design allows it to navigate shallow inshore waters with ease while also being sturdy enough to handle the moderate conditions nearshore. Whether you’re fishing close to the shoreline or venturing out to deeper waters, this boat ensures a comfortable and efficient experience.
Safety and weather are always at the forefront of every trip. Inshore and nearshore fishing offers greater flexibility in the face of changing weather conditions. If offshore trips are canceled due to adverse weather, we can often find sheltered fishing spots behind islands, along canals, or near docks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable outing.
Of course, there may be days when conditions simply don’t allow for fishing, and cancellations are unavoidable. While these situations can be disappointing, your safety and well-being are always my top priorities. Rest assured, I am committed to making decisions that ensure a safe and enjoyable experience every time you step aboard.
By choosing inshore or nearshore fishing, you’ll enjoy a balanced mix of adventure, relaxation, and stunning scenery—all while creating lasting memories. Whether you’re a first-time angler or a seasoned fishing enthusiast, these trips are designed to deliver an exceptional experience tailored to your needs.
